Five ways to get more out of Gen AI by mixing up your prompts

Five ways to get more out of Gen AI by mixing up your prompts ⬇️

As with any tool, if you use it in the same way, you get the same results. And it’s easy to get stuck in a repetitive loop!

I recently read a great article in Harvard Business Review which shared several ways you can break free from this cycle to get more from Gen AI.

Here are the five that stood out for me:

  1. Use open-ended, rather than direct questions: “What if...” and “How might we...”.

  2. Think metaphorically or analogically: “Imagine UX design is like a dance, how might we approach change?”

  3. Prompt for perspectives: “How might an astronaut, teacher and CEO approach...”.

  4. Ask for impossibilities and experiential scenarios: “Brainstorm solutions that we haven’t even imagined yet...”

  5. Use Future-driven prompts: “What will [something] look like in 20 years”.

Not only will these help you get more from Gen AI, but they will help to rewire how you think and break free from past constraints.
