2026 here we go!

People and behaviour2 min readSam Page

I took a LinkedIn break over Christmas and it felt great.
Now I'm back, here's a few of the things I'm aiming for this year.

After 2025, I'm determined to line 2026 up to be a better year, using a fresh perspective and approach. And lots of energy.

Here are my aims for the year ahead, in case any of them help you too.

  1. Connection. Be present and connected to those around me (near and far). It's what makes life great.

  2. Routine. Get back into the right routine. Everyday. Early mornings for "me" - exercise, learning, thinking. Professional focus in the day. Evenings to stay on top of day-to-day life. Weekends for friends and family.

  3. Purpose. Be unashamedly more aligned to my "purpose" (see below). That doesn't mean one big thing, but rather small daily things that head in the right direction.

  4. Impact. Make a bigger positive difference in the world. Combining people, organisations and technology. Help people. Connect people. Add value and contribute.

  5. Make 7DOTS famous for the incredible work we do. We've spent too long hidden. Lean into what we are amazing at. Help other organisations that we/I support do the same.

  6. Experiences. Have at least 42 new experiences/ventures/adventures this year.

  7. Magic. Enjoy life, don't force it. Continue to look for the everyday magical moments.

  8. Roses. Roses (and all plants in general), growing in the ground. I love them. More time growing, more time pruning. See where it goes.

  9. Three words: Positivity. Spontaneity. Compassion.

If you're looking for a fresh perspective on things, the following were really helpful to me over the past few weeks:

  • Podcast: I Took In A Homeless Man At Christmas... Davina, McCall
  • Book: The Purpose Pursuit, Hannah Miller
  • Book: The Good Life, Robert Waldinger
  • Book: The Courage To Be Disliked, Ichiro Kishimi, Fumitake Koga (thanks Cyrille).
  • Book: How to Be Happy at Work, Annie McKee (thanks Honor).
  • Conversations with my coach Bruce and wife Gemma (also a coach).
  • Conversations with family, friends, colleagues and clients.
  • Time thinking, writing in my journal, and switching off from work entirely.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope something in that was helpful!
